A 15-minute true story from Western Australia, 1932: machine guns, emus, a Parliament that could not stop laughing and farmers who paid for every round. The funny version is famous and partly wrong; the real one has a turn in it about what actually worked. With one live vote. Everything to say is in the speaker notes.

Slides: 30.

Topics: Presentation Night, History, True Stories.
