AI quiz generator

Describe the quiz in one sentence. Run it live on every phone.

Say the topic, how many questions and how hard. Decka writes multiple-choice questions, four answers each, with the right one marked. You check them, then the room answers from their phones.

Demo of creating a quiz with AI: a prompt describing the quiz is typed into the Generate with AI popover, and five complete multiple-choice questions are generated at once, each with four options and the correct answer marked.

How it works

From one sentence to a quiz the room can play.

The demo replays the quiz editor's Generate step with one request: five trivia questions about space exploration.

01

Describe it

Type what you need in plain words, such as “10 medium questions on the causes of the First World War”. Up to 20 questions per request.

02

Check every question

Each one comes back with four answers and the right one marked. Rewrite a question, swap an answer, or change which one is correct and how long the timer runs.

03

Run it live

Show the QR code or share the link. People answer in their phone's browser, and faster correct answers score more.

Where it fits

An AI quiz maker for teaching, training, and trivia.

The generator writes the first draft of the questions. What the quiz is for decides what you ask it for.

01

Revision before an exam

Ask for questions at your course's level and run them at the end of a lecture. At the room's pace, each reveal shows the right answer and how much of the room got it.

02

Training recaps

Three to five questions after each module show what stuck. The report afterwards counts how many people chose each answer, question by question.

03

Trivia questions on any theme

Name a theme and a difficulty and you have a round. Points tally themselves and the leaderboard keeps score, so nobody has to.

Read the questions before the room does

A language model writes plausible questions quickly, and plausible is not the same as correct. It can get a fact wrong, or offer two answers that could both be defended. Every generated question opens in the editor, so check the facts and the answer key before you present.

A good question tests one idea and offers wrong answers that a half-prepared student might pick. Ask for that in the prompt, along with the level of your class. The guide to trivia questions that work on a live room covers what makes a question land.

The questions become a live quiz, run at the room's pace or at each person's own. The same AI allowance also writes the boards for Questionable!, the team trivia game. For the slides around the quiz, the AI presentation maker drafts a deck from a prompt.

FAQ

AI quiz generator questions, answered

Is the AI quiz generator free?

Yes, to start. The Free plan includes 100 AI quiz questions a month, and Pro includes 2,000 AI quiz questions a month. Questionable!'s AI-written boards draw on the same allowance.

How many questions can it write at once?

Up to 20 in one request, as long as your monthly allowance has that many left. Ask for a number, or leave it out and you get five.

Can it make a quiz from a PDF or my lecture notes?

Not from a file. The generator works from what you type, up to 1,000 characters, so paste a short passage or your key points and ask for questions on them. The AI presentation maker reads .docx, .pdf, .md, or .txt files, but it turns them into slides.

What kind of questions does it write?

Multiple choice: four answers per question, with one marked correct. Afterwards you can give any question between 2 and 8 answers, which makes true or false a two-answer question, and add a picture to the question or its answers.

How is this different from asking ChatGPT for quiz questions?

A chat assistant gives you text to copy into another tool. Decka puts the questions straight into a quiz, with the answers marked and a timer on each question. Then the room plays it on their phones, with scoring and a leaderboard.

Does it work in PowerPoint and Google Slides?

Yes. The PowerPoint add-in and the Google Slides extension both include the quiz editor and its Generate step, so you can write the questions and run the quiz from the deck you present.

How many people can take the quiz?

The Free plan supports up to 50 participants per live activity, Pro raises that to 150, and Badass supports up to 300. Everyone joins by QR code or link and answers in their phone's browser, with no app and no account.
