How it works
- 01
Everyone writes, in secret
Each phone gets 2 silly prompts, and every prompt goes to exactly two players. Answers are up to 80 characters, with 60 seconds on the clock. Stuck? Take a safety joke for half points.
- 02
Two answers face off
One prompt and its two answers go up on the big screen with no names on them, and everyone else votes on their phone for the funnier one, with 15 seconds to vote.
- 03
The applause decides
The applause meter fills with the vote and the names come out. Every vote is worth 100 points, times the round's number. Take every vote and that's a mic drop: 250 points more.

A funniest answer game for the whole room
Funny-answer games are usually a living-room thing: someone’s game library, someone’s TV, a few friends who already know how it works. The paper version needs a host to read every slip aloud, and the handwriting gives people away. Neither suits a team of thirty in a meeting room.
Here everyone writes on the phone already in their pocket, and the big screen is a comedy club the whole room can see. The lights follow the show: cold blue while the writers write, two spotlights for a face-off, pink when somebody sweeps the room, and gold for the headliner. No name goes up with a line until the applause, so the quiet ones get the laughs too, and the host can play as well.
Want to try a line on your own first? The free Daily duel has one prompt a day, the same for everyone, and other players judge your line against theirs, with no sign-up: play it yourself.

FAQ
Mic Drop, explained
How do you play Mic Drop?
Everyone joins on their phone and answers silly prompts in secret. Then two answers to the same prompt face off on the big screen, with no names on them, and everyone else votes for the funnier one. The applause meter fills, the names come out, and the points land. After the last round, the comic with the most laughs headlines the night.
What is a mic drop?
A clean sweep: one answer takes every vote in a face-off, with at least 3 people voting. The big screen turns pink, the other answer falls off the stage, a neon “Mic drop!” lights up, and its writer scores 250 points on top of the votes.
What happens in the last round?
The headliner round. Everyone answers the same prompt, with 90 seconds to write, then picks up to 3 favourites on their phone, never their own: a first pick is worth 3, a second 2 and a third 1. The best answers play out on the big screen, and then the night's top comic headlines on the marquee.
What if someone can't think of an answer?
They can take a safety joke, a ready-made answer from the prompt pack, for half points. An answer that never comes in loses its face-off, and the other answer takes all the votes, with no mic drop bonus.
Is it safe for work, and for a classroom?
Pick the prompt pack that suits the room: Office, Party, Christmas, Family and Classroom. Turn on the family-friendly filter, and each answer is checked before it reaches the big screen; an answer that might not be suitable is shown only to the person who wrote it. The filter is on by default for school use. You can also hide any answer from your phone before or during its face-off, and a built-in word list holds back slurs whatever the setting.
Can I write my own prompts?
Yes. Add up to 20 prompts of your own, and they are played before the pack's. Inside jokes welcome.
How many people can play?
At least 3. Up to 16 players write in pairs. With 17 or more, a round becomes open mic: everyone answers the same prompt, each phone judges 5 random pairs, and the top 4 answers play two face-offs and a final on the big screen. Late arrivals vote from the audience and write from the next round. The Free plan supports up to 50 participants per live activity, Pro raises that to 150, and Badass supports up to 300.
How long does a game take?
A show is 3 rounds by default, and you can choose 2 or 4. Each round opens with 60 seconds of writing (90 for the headliner), and each face-off's vote takes 15 seconds, ending early once everyone has voted.
Can you play Mic Drop online?
Yes. Everyone scans a QR code or opens a link and plays in their phone's browser, with no app and no account. It works in one room or on a video call, as long as everyone can see the shared screen.
Do players need an app or an account?
No. They scan a QR code or open a link and play in their phone's browser. Nothing to install and no sign-up.
